Volume 10 of the series »Beitraege zur schwarzburgischen Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte«

Heidecksburg Palace in Rudolstadt is one of the most important palaces built in Central Germany in the 18th century. Power-political self-confidence, stately representation and courtly ceremonial as well as an architecture that challenged the fine arts can still be experienced today. Over a period of six years, scholars from various disciplines have comprehensively researched the history of Heidecksburg Palace's construction, furnishings, use and function. The volume contains contributions by Kathrin Dunkhase, Horst Fleischer, Dietger Hagner, Dr. Katja Heitmann, Jens Henkel, Dr. Hans Herz, Petra Hinreiner, Dr. Franz Nagel, Dr. Joerg Hoffmann, Knut Krauße, Lars Krauße, Prof. Dr. Helmut-Eberhard Paulus, Prof. Dr. Hans Schmigalla, Dr. Ines Spazier, Dr. Tim Schueler and Dr. Lutz Unbehaun. Now a publication is available that spans the arc from the first traces of settlement on the castle hill in the early Middle Ages to the history of the castle after the social upheavals in the 20th century.
